30 Zero Zero – April 1st to 30th
A local filmmaker has thrust herself in the limelight and onto the hot-seat by challenging the citizens of Metro Vancouver to live Zero Waste, Zero Impact for 30 days. Alison Richards (Founder of QR Meet Up) hopes to demonstrate that, with simple behavior changes and a commitment to the environment, she can do just that. Her goal; to live with the least amount of impact on the planet starting April 1st.
LIVE @ 5! – Daily Webcast on Livestream.com
Alison will broadcast live (via the web) each day at 5pm. She will talk with Multi-Cultural Co-Hosts as they share lessons learned, challenges faced, and tips on how to live fashionably yet, waste free.
Follow the 30 Zer0 Zer0 team as they investigate alternatives, visit families, schools and businesses that have been living Zero Waste and interview experts on the impact of excess garbage in the region.
Film crews will document day-to-day activities, show tips and tricks for saving mother earth and reveal the staggering fact that we need to start doing something fast or we’re going to end up buried in garbage. The final documentary will air during the Projecting Change Film Festival, May 26 – 29th, 2011.
On an interactive website designed specifically for this challenge, you can provide feedback, encourage the pair, point them in the right direction (ie: where to find Organic locally grown food, share recipes for cleaning or beauty products) and document activities on reducing carbon footprint.
